Another New CIO

Moghaddassi

      From Fedscoop:

The Social Security Administration has moved on to its third chief information officer of the Trump administration, tapping yet another individual with Department of Government Efficiency affiliations.

According to an update to CIO.gov, a federal page that features IT leaders in the government, Aram Moghaddassi has taken over as SSA’s top IT official after previously working at the agency in a different role. Moghaddassi, who has also worked at the Labor Department, was at one point given access to IT systems at United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, FedScoop previously reported

Per his LinkedIn profile, Moghaddassi previously worked for two Elon Musk-owned companies: the social media platform X and Neuralink.

Moghaddassi is at least the third DOGE associate to be named CIO at SSA since President Donald Trump took office in January. Mike Russo, a former CIO at Oracle and the payments processing company Shift4, was installed in the position in early February, an agency spokesperson told FedScoop.  …

Anyone who thinks Elon isn’t running the show is foolish. SSA is compromised.

It’s almost like they come in with their “pRiVaTe SeCtOr EfFiCiEnCy” mindset and then quickly learn that’s not how government organizations operate. Especially one who has the responsibility of protecting hundreds of millions of citizens PII and sending out/transmitting 70 million checks monthly.

No doubt highly qualified and accomplished individuals. But can they work within the confines of government? It seems the answer is no. SSA has terrible technology and refuses to pay for the best. Thus, it's stuck in a time warp.

the irony is not lost that there has been a MAJOR system outage all morning...

The sabotage continues as planned...

Is this a case of the first two both refusing to sign off on totally illegal data sharing, or systems access violations for DOGE bros? Or did they realize what all SSA CIOs learn, that you come in to overhaul ancient systems, but your job is to tell Congress that COBOL is cool and modernization has failed yet again?

Have to have a budget to improve technology, it is not a private company that can spend on things that are needed, public has to spend on allocated by congress

Elon hired Edward Coristine because he thought his user name “big balls” was funny. And his companies are notoriously horrible places to work due to abhorrent labor conditions. So, the fact that this man worked for two of Elon’s companies leaves plenty of room for doubt in my mind about his qualifications and intellect.

Would you say that everything went . . .completely “balls”-up? 😂

Let me lay it out for you. Nobody with any sense wants to sign their name to the blatantly illegal directives coming down — so the administration brings in young, naive recruits who don’t know any better. They’re handed more power than they’ve ever had in their lives, and they follow orders thinking they’re doing the right thing. But when it all blows up, who do you think gets left holding the bag? Not the real shot-callers. It’ll be those kids, hung out to dry while the architects of this mess walk away clean. Honestly, I almost feel sorry for them. Almost.
