From Reuters:
A federal judge has dismissed a bid by President Donald Trump's administration to obtain judicial permission to cancel dozens of collective bargaining agreements between eight federal agencies and unions representing their employees.Waco, Texas-based U.S. District Judge Alan Albright decided late on Wednesday that the agencies do not have legal standing to bring a lawsuit to implement a Trump executive order exempting them from having to bargain with unions, handing a victory to the American Federation of Government Employees union, or AFGE. …The Departments of Defense, Justice, Homeland Security, Veterans Affairs, Agriculture and Housing and Urban Development, as well as the Environmental Protection Agency and the Social Security Administration, filed the lawsuit in March. The judge was appointed by Trump, for what it's worth.
Bread crumb victory by lousy federal unions.
More than 275,000 United States federal civil service layoffs have been announced by the second Trump administration.[1][2] As of June 26, 2025, CNN has tracked at least 128,709 workers laid off or targeted for layoffs.[3] As of 3 June 2025, The New York Times tracked more than 58,500 confirmed cuts, more than 76,000 employee buyouts, and more than 149,000 other planned reductions; cuts total 12% of the 2.4 million civilian federal workers.[4] In limited cases, the administration has rescinded layoff notifications.[5]

Worth nothing!
This isn’t a victory to celebrate because the unions are impotent. What’s the point of having them if they have no power. Telework in the contract? Gone. Reassignments? Couldn’t stop it. TSC details? Can’t stop them. Losing flex bands? Worthless. I quit the union this year because what’s the point.
Preach!
Idiotic to blame the unions.
@9:59 -- nobody is blaming the unions for the result or actions of the administration. They are simply asking the question of what good the union actually does for the average bargaining unit member. I reached out to my union in January about an issue they specifically asked members to contact them about. I still haven't heard back from them. In the meantime, I contacted my office management team, and they fixed it without any prodding. Management responses are obviously a YMMV situation, but unfortunately so are the union actions.
The OP is right to blame them for doing nothing. Shows how weak they are now. I quit too about a week ago when I had to start TSC duty.
@1:48pm: Way to play right into Trump’s hands. And way to publicly brag about doing so in order to increase the odds of the union’s demise. Because workers’ lives were SO much better before the right to collectively bargain came about right?
I hope you enjoy your future of misery and poverty! You’ve proven to the world that you definitely deserve it!
