These type of threats happen more often then what the public thinks. To some the government is the enemy. These are unstable times. Homelessness and the unemployment numbers are about to spike even more. I give a ton of credit for the hard working federal employees that put in a hard days work in these difficult times.

"He was issued a ticket to appear in city court on December 23". Um.... I don't think the actions of this matches the crime. So, they just let him go until the 23rd?!?! I bet that the employees at that field office will be on their toes for a few weeks. 😳 I'd probably use vacation time, if it were available. That's a pretty hefty threat to just give notice to appear in CITY court. I'd think that'd be a federal thing, being it involved a federal threat toward federal employee's at a federal building.

@7:48 verbal threats without clear intent or means to carry out can be difficult to prosecute with a higher felony charge. Threats against federal employees on federal property are an exception, but federal prosecutors are not going to move as fast as local prosecutors....especially with this DOJ.

At this point they should let the guy off with a warning. Maybe invite him to the field office to show him we aren’t evil. He’d understand. Right now everyone is reasonably upset about the poor service at these offices. Help them find better ways to express their frustration.

Seems reasonable to me. I bet most in that office are teleworking anyway.

Yeah, or he's just looney and actually might just want to blow the place up. Yes, I'd guess 98 percent of these folks won't ever do what they say they are going to do, but this person will surely be banned from offices. If the threat is substantiated in any way, he's going to prison. You don't really get to just say these things.
