I’ve heard that Social Security is having large scale systems problems today but have no details. Can anyone fill me in?

Well I just tried to log into my mySSA account and got a message indicating that service, meaning just trying to log in online, wasn't available currently.
What happened is SSA drove its knowledgable staff to retirement and hired a child with little education past high school and the maturity of a six year old child (Big Balls) to spearhead management of its systems.
I think SSA's previous scheduled downtime on some systems (especially ARS and the ePFT, the latter of which no longer exists) was excessive, but perhaps going to 0 downtime was a little too far in the other direction.
Yes we had widespread outage this morning. Systems were down. Could not open program that does SSI. Our appointment program was offline so people walking in and had no idea who had appointments and who didn’t. AWS was also offline for a bit so could not use phones.
We have had more outages this year and it is directly because DOGE pushed people out the door. All that knowledge and capacity to proactively mitigate issues went 💨 poof
My firm had several hearings that had issues today because ALJ's said they were unable to access some documents/systems. My hearing (Washington DC OHO) was able to proceed after ALJ at first said he was unable to access some information but ALJ said he had his notes had wanted to go forward despite the IT issues but another attorney had 2 hearings postponed as that ALJ said she could not access the file or her notes (San Antonio OHO)

Ssa no longer reports issues! Frank and his chiefs have assembled the best team SSA in the modern era.

Frank has eliminated the status.ssa.gov site that provided uptime information. Guess he didn't like transparency for issues like today.

Can’t blame it on him. Little Eddie is gone.
