SSA Employees Unhappy

      From Politico:

… A new survey of federal workers found that, government wide, only 32 percent of the federal workforce is satisfied with and engaged in their jobs.  …

The survey, conducted late last year by the nonpartisan Partnership for Public Service, was launched after the White House instructed the Office of Personnel Management to cancel its annual Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey, a long-running survey tracking agency performance and workplace morale across four administrations, according to a person with knowledge of OPM’s plans and granted anonymity to discuss them.  …

[A]t the Social Security Administration, the score fell from 54.2 to 15.2. …

The 15% who responded positively are likely management, only because they have learned that negative responses only mean more work assignments for them to force improvement. "Go make employees appreciate the warmth from this dumpster fire!"

Surprise, Surprise. SSA employees aren't happy with increased workloads, decreased and poor training and management that is unavailable or unable to assist due to be transferred to workloads they are not familiar with. Throw in the removal of telework option for some employees and it is a amazing that any SSA employees had positive responses to the survey.

@10:30am Curious what long-term gains we are expecting here. Has anyone shared the long plan other than straight-up destruction and mayhem. Zero performance accountability, zero visibility into who's doing what, continued support for contractors who deliver nothing by way of modernization, litigation on top of litigation, TSP nosedive, S&P nosedive, war, grift, grift, and more grift...

The 15% positive is most likely those who completed the survey with Frank looking over their shoulder. I personally don’t know anyone who feels happy or engaged.

Remember when SSA employee satisfaction survey was done and the commissioner said “she was pleased we maintained 16/17”

Then the following year we dropped 17/17 for more year(s) and the solution was to just get rid of the survey! LOL. SSA was at one point in the top 5 best federal agencies to work at.

The dumpster fire has been going on for a VERY long time over many administrations.

Comparing previous experiences of SSA with the current shit show is ridiculous. A breach of ALL American citizen data like the Doge douchbags stole has never occurred before. SSA employees are ASHAMED of their leadership as they’ve destroyed trust in our Agency and US!

I thought management couldn't participate in these type of surveys. Work at SSA can suck but like most things, people who are upset are more apt to respond. I'd include myself in that. I really wonder about that 15% though.

Anyone else notice the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) was not conducted in 2025 and doesn’t seem planned for 2026?
