I wonder if the IG knows that this is how SSA is wasting the taxpayers money?

Is this something official? I certainly hope not. This is the lamest attempt at PR i've ever seen. The script is partly from friday's press release. There is no link to this "viral" video on socialsecurity.gov

That's the most stupid thing I've ever seen. I'm sorry I wasted the time it took to watch it. We are doomed as a country and culture.

Delusional for the decision makers to think that was money well spent.

"Doomed as a country and culture" ??? This video is ridiculous, and a real stretch as an ad for the prescription drug subsidy. But now were doomed? Seriously?

It's no wonder that there is such a hearing backlog. It appears that SSA is choosing to use its resources for cheesy videos about the top baby names instead of trying to adjudicate claims in an expedient manner. It's all about priorities and SSA's are obviously out of order.

I was curious, but skipped through it just to get the gist of it. OMG this is putrid. I'll bet all of the claimants whose claims we cannot process because we haven't enough staff in our FO would be thrilled to know how SSA is really spending the extra funds Congress appropriated.
This is as bad as the Air force One flyover, at least.

Hmmm.....this ad probably took a few hundred dollars using equipment already in place for IVTs and IVT staff to produce it. It's clever, can be passed around, and passes on some information. The people who produce this aren't normally processing claims. If this clever Internet video wasn't produced ODAR would still have insane backlongs! C'mon folks, lighten up!
