I recently posted about the arrest of Administrative Law Judge Timothy Robert Maher of Social Security's Miami hearing office on charges of threatening his girlfriend with a gun in the presence of their child. There's more to the story. Police were called to Maher's residence on three consecutive nights after his arrest. Maher also recently got into what sounds like a road rage incident with another driver.

Many Federal agencies have a strict prohibition against relatives, spouses, significant others and intimate partners working in the same office. Not so with SSA.
Nothing is more uncomfortable than coming into work and hearing similar allegations of domestic abuse involving co workers in your own office.
It's not uncommon for domestic violence to be fueled by alcohol and drug abuse. The agency also does not drug test employees.
Management will tell you all is well. Go back to your cubicle and ignore the policies they created.
^ what he/she said.
Other issues have arisen and both the Miami and Ft Lauderdale OHO offices are closed today. A ban letter prohibiting him from entering SSA facilities has also been issued.
