Ron Estes (R-KS) has been named Chairman of the House Social Security Subcommittee. Here's his statement on his new position:
Too many Americans have had difficulties with the Social Security Administration, including improper payments, missed payments, filing issues and other customer service failings,” said Social Security Subcommittee Chairman Estes (KS-04). “As our subcommittee convenes, I look forward to providing greater oversight of the SSA and addressing process improvements while working to ensure frontline employees are back in the office. I’m honored to lead the Social Security Subcommittee for the 119th Congress and to foster meaningful, robust discussion to preserve and protect the benefits of current, near and future retirees.

Estes is not off to a good start. His statement is essentially blaming SSA employees, and telework, for the problems.
The main problem is that SSA has not been properly funded, and there are simply to enough employees to handle the workloads. Especially without overtime, which SSA has depended upon for decades.
Estes doesn't want to admit that GOP lack of support for adequate funding is the main problem, so he diverts attention from that fact by blaming telework.
I really want congress to properly fund SSA, and the agency to rebuild and provide excellent service to the American people.
But a tiny part of me wants things to go horribly, in a way that makes it very clear that the failure is on congress. For once, I want them to be held accountable for their greed, corruption, and immorality and maybe if enough people suffer and die the voting public will finally figure it out.
But since I don't believe the voting public is capable of seeing the rope that's strangling them, and I don't believe there will ever be any accountability for our overlords, I'm mostly hoping for the first outcome.
But here's what's going to happen. Things are going to get worse. The blame will be assigned to someone, probably the employees or the other party, and a few people will make a lot of money from the suffering of millions. I hope I'm wrong.
