Ways and Means Republicans are asking questions about implementation of the WEP/GPO bill, including whether the agency needs more money to implement it. About time they start asking questions.
By the way, I don’t see why this letter is only signed by Republicans other than the fact that almost all civility has broken down in the House of Representatives.

These activist retirees that have clout really know how to pull the strings. I guess grocery and homeownership prices are under control and therefore Republicans can concentrate on implementing the repeal of GPO and WEP. Makes one wonder on how many in Congress stand to gain monetarily by the repeal of this bill?
Have Republicans sent an urgent letter to SSA leadership on this issue?

This is a political stunt designed to make lemonade out of lemons. The bill was passed despite objections from both parties and by bypassing the roadblocks the committee usually set up to kill bills. (they got out maneuvered.) Given it's now law, how better to get some positive press by ignoring the fact they'd have killed the bill if they could (like it died so many times in prior iterations) so now they are the champions.
Democrats see no upside to signing this, it's just a stunt and piling on. I guarantee Colvin will provide some timelines while pointing out that they are based on not having any sort of appropriations to help implement it, maybe including what amount of money could make it happen faster and so tossing the ball back at the letter writers. Who can claim they didn't write the bill and so that's not their fault but who now have the power to address the issue. Whether they do so is another issue but the point will be made.
