Take a look at the taped meeting Social Security just posted. You'd think that Social Security's problems are almost all technical, problems that a good leader can resolve. It is the message that Bisignano can solve Social Security's problems without additional resources. Good luck with that!

A Leland production. Talking about Academy Award material.
Yeah. Technology is always the answer with these idiots. And never good useful technology. We’re supposed to keep working faster and getting more done than ever before with cut-rate software that doesn’t even work. Oh, you have to review 12,000 pages of medical records in only an hour? Just use the word-search function. You know, the one that only works about 10% of the time and crashes hour system if you try to scan more than 100 or so pages. Oh, and schedule 50 more hearings this month while you’re at it.
“Let’s make telephone more attractive so that the field office is the last resort”…also “Nobody is allowed to complete a transaction end to end over the phone channel alone….” He is so worried about covering his talking points to try to assure the public that SS is safe that he isn’t even making sense.
When did Peter Griffin start working at SSA as the ACOSS?
Leland you are in over your head. You are attempting to sound smart , the act isn’t working everyone sees through your foolishness. You posted this video which will one day be used against you.
I do think it is good that this meeting is posted to YouTube so everyone sees what is going on at SSA whether they like it or not.
Did one of these clown shoes say bc staff is back in the office they can see more people? Tell me you have no idea about how a FO works without telling me. Also all this ID proofing BS has nothing to do with fraud and everything to do with the creation of an operational need to support the return to office. SSA is returning to the dark ages under this lack of leadership and those at the table that fail to speak up it’s on you too.
And Now...This...

Social Security rushing service cuts at White House request, sources say
The Social Security Administration is rushing cuts to phone services at the White House's request, the agency's acting commissioner told Social Security advocates in a meeting on Monday, two sources who attended tell Axios.
Why it matters: These changes will strain the already struggling Social Security system and deprive some people of benefits entirely, according to current and former employees and advocates for retirees.
Driving the news: Acting commissioner Leland Dudek said the changes in question would usually take two years to implement, but will be made in two weeks instead, the two sources said on condition of anonymity due to fears of retaliation.
"Golden Nuggets" what a sad state for a once proud agency.
I like how they keep saying they're "driving" people to online services. They're not enticing them, convincing them, or informing them, they're driving them. They've been doing this for years, they cut field services to force people to go online, regardless if that's what they want or need.
Nothing wrong with encouraging online services, but they're forcing people to use them by making all the other service options worse. It's despicable, it's bad service, and it's disgusting to hear them talk about it like it's a good thing.
Also, the RSHI timeliness metric is an awful measurement of service, and the only reason it's as good as it is, is because the FOs are gaming their workloads to meet it. Not to provide good service, but to meet a metric.
I feel
It’s like the nazi high command meeting as everything around them is being burnt to the ground.
Yeah I'm expecting a Downfall edit to this video any time now
This is what you call hiding in plain sight. Leland is surrounded by yes-men enablers telling him exactly what he wants to hear while people suffer. They are just as complicit.
Frederick Douglass looking in from the hallway is a nice touch.
setting ssa up for privatization. like irs/h r block
I thought Jay Ortis was better than this.
What's scary is all those stooges clearly have zero clue what the customers of SSA are really like and what their needs are. Apparently, the internet will solve all of our challenges. Good luck with that. I recommend taking a month long trip to a field office working a reception desk. Then, head back to Baltimore and see if the same spew comes out of your mouths. You people in that video need to clue up.

It's devastating to look around this table and see the same people responsible for a decade of decline -- Policy, Systems, Budget -- all of it. Each one desperately clinging to relevance without a shred of integrity or any clue of what's coming under a confirmed Bisignano. Hopefully he cleans house starting at the top.
They should call it Faux-stat or Potemkin-stat or Bully-stat. It’s not about solving problems — it’s about masking the gutting of the agency with a video of people meeting in the same room where we actually used to do that. And you can tell it isn’t real because we never allowed people to flip up their laptops to answer emails during a real SecurityStat.
In order to turn the public against the agency, they have to wreck customer service so, then, they can privatize, liquidate, and rob.
Someone help me here - is it typical that 7 out of 8 persons sitting at the table would be white males? What happened to the women that were in leadership positions? Where is the representation of the public we serve?
Man, I've assumed for a long long time that the decision making apparatus at the top must be fundamentally flawed and disconnected from the realities of the field. That video proves it. I wouldn't be proud to be any of those people. Yuck, just yuck. Charts, graphs and data points only go so far. I'd recommend talking to some managers and staff in the production components. Get a real feel for the reality on the ground. Customers aren't just numbers on a PowerPoint. Employees aren't either. Get real folks. With, that said, I can see why we are gutting so many of the CO and RO roles. If anybody was in the chain supporting that kind of nonsense, they should go. You want to know how to fix the agency? Try it with some REAL bottom up feedback, not feedback from the chain of yes people.
Also, they are lying when they say the CX contract expired - they attempted to cancel the contract. They didn't lose their SMEs - Lee fired the entire CX team that was under the Office of Transformation.
this is the representation today
You clearly don't know Jay ortiz
Did everyone hear Leland say that he thinks they should just pay everyone who applies for disability, process them as RZ (redeterminations) and prosecute them for fraud if they are not disabled at RZ???? 25:50. What on earth is he thinking?
